In 2025, the health sector is rapidly evolving amid new technologies, changing patient and customer needs, and shifting trends in public opinion. In this context, we are releasing our Sandpiper Global Reputation Capital Index: Managing Reputation in the Health & Wellness Sector report, which provides useful data and insights on the ever more crucial area of health organisations’ reputation.
We launched our Sandpiper Global Reputation Capital Index in October 2024, and have since been drilling down into the data for individual sectors. The publication of today’s report features the responses of 148 global leaders in the health sector across six contents.
While 75% of health sector respondents rated all of the key areas of reputation management as important, only 27% rated their own organisation’s capabilities as strong.
Our results show that reputation is also becoming more difficult for health sector leaders to manage, with 50% noting that it has become more difficult in the past year, compared to only 20% who say it is getting easier. Leaders in the sector are also highly likely to face organisational risks based on reputational weakness.
The index groups respondents into performance-based categories – Trailblazers (3%), Aspirants (38%), Followers (54%), and Beginners (5%) – using 51 separate variables across nine areas of reputation management. On average, health leaders were behind peers in other sectors across every area.
The report also reveals areas where health leaders should invest in the future as well as opportunities for improving reputation management within their organisations.

Now is the time for Healthcare leaders to lead. As we celebrate the role of the health sector in saving and improving lives, we hope these data-driven insights showcase opportunities for how leaders in the sector can enhance their organisational resiliency and deliver better outcomes for patients and all stakeholders.
