Beyond the Playbook: How Asia Pacific business leaders see geopolitical risk
October 2026

Geopolitical uncertainty is no longer an occasional disruption, but a defining feature of the global business environment. With little expectation that tensions will ease, businesses across Asia Pacific must learn to operate amid persistent regulatory fragmentation, supply chain risks and political polarisation.
Yet despite growing awareness of these threats, many businesses remain underprepared. As companies adjust their supply chains, investment decisions and stakeholder engagement strategies, traditional corporate affairs approaches are being put to the test.
Against this backdrop, Sandpiper Public Affairs surveyed 473 senior executives across Asia Pacific to understand how businesses perceive and respond to geopolitical risk. Our findings reveal a significant gap between risk awareness and preparedness, and highlight how corporate affairs leaders must adapt their strategies to navigate uncertainty and protect long-term business growth.
