Sandpiper Appoints Elizabeth Egginton to General Manager, ANZ
March 2026

3 March 2026 – The Sandpiper Group (“Sandpiper”), the largest independent communications, public affairs, and research group headquartered in Asia Pacific and operating across the Middle East, has appointed Elizabeth Egginton (“Liz”) to the role of General Manager, Australia and New Zealand. Liz’s new role is in addition to her leading Sandpiper’s Technology Practice across the region.
Liz’s appointment strengthens the firm’s leadership team and its capabilities in Australasia and coincides with the expansion of Sandpiper’s business across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, which now spans 14 locations. In her role as General Manager ANZ, Liz leads teams based in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland, with a remit to continue growing Sandpiper’s presence in the region. Liz succeeds Fran Boase, who now has an expanded remit as Managing Director and Global Practice Lead of Sandpiper’s Professional Services and Insurance Practices, and is taking on a broader strategic mandate to grow these practices across APAC and the Middle East.
Liz brings more than 25 years of experience in reputation management and corporate communications. Prior to Sandpiper, she worked at IBM for over two decades, where her focus was on leading diverse Communications teams across the APAC region, managing brand reputation and supporting business growth imperatives. She joined Sandpiper in May 2024.
Emma Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Sandpiper, said: “We are committed to building career paths for our teams, promoting from within Sandpiper, and to the advancement of women into senior positions. I am therefore delighted to announce Liz’s appointment to General Manager of our ANZ business. This is in recognition of the work, advice and counsel she gives to our clients, her deep ties in the ANZ market, and to the great job she is doing leading our Technology Practice across APAC and the Middle East.”
