Associate Director/ Account Director – Transactions and Financial & Professional Services Practices – Hong Kong, Sandpiper

Sandpiper, one of the fastest growing reputation and policy management consultancies in the world, is seeking a talented and entrepreneurial individual to join our Transactions and Financial & Professional Services practices.  The successful candidate will be based in Hong Kong but will work for our clients across the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for energetic and creative professionals with experience advising on financial transactions, together with proven financial and professional services expertise.

The ideal candidate should have six to ten years’ experience and have worked in an international consultancy or multinational corporation.  You will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced highly empowered environment.

We want all our colleagues to participate in shaping client strategies and contributing to the growth and management of our business, and we highly value fresh thinking and fresh ideas!

You will work with our multinational team of senior advisers combining local knowledge with a global perspective. We believe a deep understanding of the sectors in which our clients operate is a prerequisite of strategic counsel and campaigns that make our clients stand out.

Requirements

  • Experience advising on complex financial transactions and a proven track record advising clients in the financial and professional services sectors
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Experience managing a team and capable of driving new business pitches
  • Capable of multi-tasking on multiple projects – managing priorities and meeting deadlines, while maintaining a high attention to detail
  • Collegiate, team player
  • Creative thinker
  • Entrepreneurial with strong business acumen
  • Bachelor’s degree at a minimum (a plus if it is in related fields such as communications, English, journalism, politics, economics, or business)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Roles and Responsibilities

You will be a senior member of Sandpiper’s financial transactions practice and work extensively with financial and professional services clients across Greater China. Reporting into the regional practice leads, your role will include:

  • Ensuring a high level of client service and leading on client accounts as required.
  • Maintaining a good understanding of clients’ business objectives, and the issues in their sector.
  • Building strong and trusted relationships with clients and key business stakeholders.
  • Leading the development of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Providing support and leadership on issues and crisis management.
  • Supporting and leading new business pitches and marketing activities in partnership with other senior team members.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest social media trends.
