Sandpiper, one of the fastest growing reputation and policy management consultancies in the world, is seeking a talented and entrepreneurial individual to join our team in Australia or New Zealand as an Account Manager/Senior Account Manager.  The successful candidate will be based in Sydney or Melbourne and will work across clients in Australia, New Zealand and across the Asia Pacific region.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and corporate communications professional, who is excited by the proposition of advising local and international clients.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years’ experience, including that within an agency/consultancy and be a self-starter who thrives in a highly empowered environment. The team across ANZ require support on several clients in the health sector, however we would love someone who can also turn their hand to other sectors – i.e. tech, insurance if possible. We want all our colleagues to participate in shaping client strategies and contributing to the growth and management of our business, and we highly value fresh thinking and fresh ideas!

Our multinational team of senior advisers combines local knowledge with a global perspective. We believe a deep understanding of the sectors in which our clients operate is a prerequisite of strategic counsel and campaigns that make our clients stand out.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills – you understand the knack of drafting a press release, developing an opinion editorial, or creating pithy social media copy
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills – you have experience in client facing roles and know how to hold your head in a client presentation or pitch
  • Experience supporting new business pitches
  • Capable of multi-tasking on multiple projects – you can manage priorities and meet deadlines, while maintaining a high attention to detail
  • Creative thinker – you can think outside the box to get excellent results
  • Entrepreneurial with strong business acumen
  • Bachelor’s degree at a minimum (a plus if it is in related fields such as communications, English, journalism, politics, economics or business).

Roles and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for supporting Sandpiper’s client work in ANZ and across the Asia Pacific region when required. Your role will also include:

  • Supporting with the growth of Sandpiper’s business in Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific
  • Ensuring a high level of client service and provide leadership on client accounts where required
  • Maintaining a good understanding of clients’ business objectives, and the issues in their sector to inform outstanding communications counsel and delivery
  • Building strong and trusted relationships with clients and key business stakeholders
  • Assisting with the development of communications and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Assisting with issues and crisis management
  • Supporting new business development and marketing activities in partnership with the Practice Leads, GM’s, COO, and CEO
  • Keeping up to date with the latest social media trends
  • Keeping up to date timesheets and expense claims.
