Functions：

  • Be responsible for setting the intermediate target of monetary policy and coordinating efforts to achieve the target
  • Proposes options for monetary policy instruments and organizes their implementation
  • Formulates interest rate policy and administrative rules for RMB and foreign currencies and RMB exchange rate policy
  • Proposes and implements interest rate adjustment plans and exchange rate reform programs
  • Formulates and implements policy and operational rules for open market operations
  • Provides secretariat service to the Monetary Policy Committee of the PBC
