  • The Chinese people’s Political Consultative Conference is an organization of the Chinese people’s patriotic united front, an important institution of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, and an important form of promoting socialist democracy in Chinese political life
  • Political consultation is to consult the national and local policies and important issues in political, economic, cultural and social life before and in the process of decision-making implementation. The political consultation of the CPPCC is an important embodiment of the multi-party cooperation led by the CPC, an important link for the party and the state to implement scientific and democratic decision-making, and an important way for the party to improve its ruling ability
  • The main contents of political consultation include: the national and local policies and important issues in political, economic, cultural and social life; the common affairs of all parties participating in the work of the CPPCC and other important issues related to the patriotic united front
  • The main forms of political consultation include: plenary session, standing committee meeting, chairman’s meeting, special symposium of standing committee, symposium held by the Party group of CPPCC entrusted by the Party committee, special consultation meeting held in the name of CPPCC National Committee, Secretary General’s meeting, special committee’s meeting, and internal consultation attended by representatives of various organizations and all walks of life of CPPCC as required Meeting. Political consultation is conducted in accordance with the procedure

Besides the CPC, it includes eight minor parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. It is managed by the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee (中共中央统一战线工作部).
  • Functions: Participate in politics, deliberate supervision, and actively participate in political consultations led by the Communist Party of China
