• The President of the People’s Republic of China (hereafter referred to as “the President”) is the state representative of the People’s Republic of China

The text originally stated that “the term of office of the president and vice president of the People’s Republic of China is the same as that of the National People’s Congress, and the consecutive term of office shall not exceed two.” It is now revised to read: “the term of office of the president and vice president of the People’s Republic of China is the same as that of the National People’s Congress
