Functions：

  • Coordinates and assists central and local government departments and agencies in UNESCO designated areas
  • Supports UNESCO cooperation, mainly related to education, science and culture
  • Serves as an external liaison, manages extra-budgetary financial resources
  • Liaises with the UNESCO general office in Asia and the Pacific Region and the Regional Office of Science and Technology in Southeast
  • Prepares China to participate in UNESCO conferences, and provides advice and suggestions to the government on issues such as relevant topics to discuss, submission of draft resolutions, and institutional elections
