Functions：

  • Studies macro policies for international cooperation and exchanges in education, and formulates development plans and relevant regulatory documents
  • Formulates national and regional policies for education cooperation and exchange, and provides policy guidance and information services for bilateral education exchanges and cooperation with other countries or regions
  • Formulates policies and plans for educational exchange and cooperation with international organizations
  • Guides, coordinates and formulates policies for studying in China and abroad
  • Guides provincial-level education administrative departments’ international student programs
  • Manages Chinese government scholarships
  • Be responsible for cooperative educational activities between China and foreign countries
  • Conducts relevant policy research on China’s overseas educational institutions
  • Performs administrative supervision for foreign related educational activities in China in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations
  • Supervises and guides provincial departments in investigating and responding to illegal acts involving foreign entities
  • Formulates relevant policies and regulations on educational cooperation and exchanges between Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan
