Functions：
- Be responsible for ecological and environmental supervision and enforcement
- Supervises the implementation of ecological environment policies, plans, regulations and standards
- Organizes the preparation of emergency plans that focus on major ecological and environmental emergencies and ecological damage events, and guides and coordinates investigations
- Coordinates settlement of disputes over environmental pollution across regions
- Organizes national ecological environmental protection law enforcement inspection activities
- Investigates major ecological and environmental violations
- Supervises and implements the system of simultaneously designing, constructing, and putting into operation the environmental protection facilities of construction projects, and guides the supervision and inspection of the completion and acceptance of ecological environmental protection facilities of construction projects
- Undertakes mitigation of environmental and social risks of existing projects
- Guides the construction and operation of a law enforcement team for ecological environment nationwide
- Undertakes listing supervision
