Functions:

  • Formulates and implements regulations and standards on market operation tuning
  • Leads the statistics collection and monitoring of market operation, develops the statistical index system, and collects data on market operation, supervises and analyzes the functioning of the market and the supply/demand status of commodities, researches and analyzes commodity prices, and conducts forecast, early warning and information releases
  • Regulates the market for important consumer goods, is responsible for perfecting the emergency management mechanism of daily necessities, and undertakes the management and market regulation of reserves for important consumer goods including meat, sugar, border-sale tea and small packaged food, etc.
  • Be responsible for promoting consumption in commercial areas, makes proposals and raises policy recommendations
  • Takes charge of connection of production and distribution of major commodities, and coordinates and resolves difficulties in selling and buying farm produce
  • Organizes and guides the “Three Green Project”
  • Be responsible for the guidance and management of commodity circulation for the “food basket” program
  • Formulates and implements regulations, standards and policies relating to alcohol, cocoons and silk, and refined oil
