Functions：

  • The Department of Port Control formulates and enforces rules and procedures related to customs examination, inspection and quarantine over inbound/outbound vehicles, goods, articles, animals, plants, food, cosmetics and passengers
  • Proposes regulations related to logistics monitoring, customs control areas and logistics operators; and rules on inbound/outbound mails/express items, temporarily imported and exported goods and exhibits
  • Supervises goods/articles prohibited or restricted by the state from entering or leaving Chinese territory
  • Be responsible for counter-terrorism efforts, stability maintenance, non-proliferation and export control as it relates to customs supervision
  • Manages imported solid waste and import/export precursor chemicals at ports of entry
