Functions：

  • Formulates development strategies, programs and policies in respect to trade and economic cooperation with related countries (regions) and organizes the implementation thereof
  • Sets up bilateral and regional inter-governmental trade and economic commission meetings
  • Organizes bilateral or regional trade and economic negotiations
  • Handles major issues in economic and trade relations with relevant countries and regions
  • Supervises the implementation of multilateral and bilateral economic and trade agreements signed by foreign governments with China, and conducts negotiations with foreign parties
  • Assists Chinese companies in their efforts to access foreign markets
  • Regulates trade and economic activities with countries without a diplomatic relationship with China
