Compliance and Procurement Officer, Sandpiper, Malaysia

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an energetic, and dedicated professional, who is excited by the idea of working for a small, agile and dynamic team. 

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience and be a self-starter who thrives in a highly empowered environment.  

Roles and Responsibilities

You will play a critical role in Sandpiper’s regional People Success team, and the direct success of the business, with responsibilities including:  

  • Management and completion of NDA, due diligence, kyc and supplier onboarding requests from clients, professional advisors and regulatory bodies
  • Input to tender (including RFP, RFQ, RFI) documents, new business proposals and other submissions to prospective clients, working alongside the client account teams to ensure completion and submission within deadlines
  • Maintenance of relationships with key supplier and implementation and management of preferred supplier programme
  • Review and approval of contracts with all clients ensuring that proper documentation in place for all confirmed work performed
  • Ensure compliance and alignment between Clients’ and Suppliers’ employee handbook policies, contract covenants, requirements, data privacy policies, cybersecurity policies, Supplier Code of Conduct ethical requirements.
  • Oversight of infrastructure agreements and licenses, e.g. office leases, computer software agreements, and management of memberships and subscriptions e.g. information databases, publications and professional bodies
  • Liaison with Company Secretaries to ensure all records are up to date and comply with all regulatory requirements

Requirements

Ideally 3-4 years’ experience in finance and accounting, human resource, administration and operations role, ideally in a professional services environment 

  • Experience of working across multiple markets including Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East is a plus 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills  
  • Responsive, strong organisation skills and capable of multi-tasking on multiple projects – managing priorities and meeting deadlines, while maintaining a high attention to detail  
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Office tools, mainly Excel (Pivot Table), Power BI, PowerPoint and Word 
  • Technologically savvy and able to use cloud-based systems 
  • Experience with legal tech, regtech or other similar automation tool is a plus 
  • Bachelor’s degree at a minimum 
  • A good team player and enthusiastic in supporting the regional team in Asia Pacific 
  • Able to thrive in a high-pressure environment 
  • Resourceful 
  • English and Mandarin
