These personnel handle traditional customs tasks, as well as border health checks, inspection and quarantine for imported and exported animals, plants, and their products, imported and exported food safety, and commodity inspection<\/li>\n<li>GACC oversees 42 customs districts which operate in total of 678 customs houses nationwide. GACC has a Guangdong office located in Guangzhou which is responsible for regional coordination<\/li>\n<li>GACC exercises the following responsibilities: port management coordination\uff1bcustoms control\uff1b anti-smuggling\uff1b trade statistics compilation\uff1b customs valuation and duty collection\uff1b performs health checks at points of entry\uff1btakes sanitary and phytosanitary measures to safeguard our land and our people\uff1b protects imported and exported food safety\uff1binspects imported and exported consumer products and bulk commodities<\/li>\n<li>China Customs, together with other border agencies, aims to build the most efficient and effective port management scheme in order to safeguard national security and national interests and to promote international trade<\/li>\n<li>Protects national safety and security, the General Administration of Customs: intensifies customs control through collaborating with competent trading partner authorities\uff1bapplies smart technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, blockchain, big data, and machine learning\uff1bbuilds a risk management mechanism for centralized intelligence collection, analysis and intervention decision-making\uff1bfights against commercial fraud, IPR infringement, tax evasion, illicit trade in solid waste, drug and wildlife trafficking, cross-border spreading of pests and contagious diseases<\/li>\n<li>Facilitates trade, the General Administration of Customs: streamlines customs procedures\uff1b implements Single Window\uff1b digitalizes and publicizes certificates and documents at all ports nationwide\uff1bcooperates with trading counterparts to share information and recognize test results\uff1bparticipates in trade negotiations led by the Ministry
